• The Doctrine of salvation lesson 6

The Presence of sin Part 2

In this lesson the lecture continued on the presence of sin and how by Adam sin has entered the world or by one man. He explained how sin is present at conception of a child and not at birth, this still is quite interesting as it is so easy to believe that that sin can only be present in a child’s life at a later stage or at the age of accountability.

I will be honest, i found it very interesting that according to this lesson, that Adam and Eve’s exile from the garden was an act of grace. Now I have never thought of that as an act of grace but always as part of the repercussions of there actions or part of a punishment in some form. In this lesson it is explained that that God put them out of the garden to protect them from the tree of life and if they we’re to eat of the tree of life they would have been locked in eternal seperation from God because of there sin.

I appreciated the statement that the lecturer made that Salvation does not make sense if we do not look at sin.

Overall it was a very informative lesson.

        • Great session indeed!
God disciplines us, not just for the sake of inflicting pain or making us face consequences, but in hope that we will become more like Him by means of the purging and redemptive work of whatever discipline we have to face. This is why we see the exile, a consequence of sin, as an act of God’s grace to give humanity the hope of restored fellowship with God in Christ.
