MODULE 2: SESSION 14: Burden of Leadership
Two conversations with Jethro frame Israel’s deliverance story (Exodus 4 and 18). Jethro represents the first of many nations who will acknowledge Yahweh’s greatness because of his victory over Pharaoh. It seems noble of Moses to shoulder the burden of all the people, but it’s unwise. We learn that when God calls us, he is not asking us to do everything. We need to make a sober assessment of who we are and what God is calling us to do, and say “no” to everything else. Saying “no” can allow us to more fully say “yes”.
