MODULE 1: The Eden Story as the Introduction to the Hebrew Bible

SESSION 1: Considering the Author’s Intentions for Genesis

      Praise God

I had a wonderful time learning about the authors intentions by exploring to the most common example of Mona Lisa where Tim uses the example of people having all sorts of different questions when they visit the Mona Lisa. What does it mean to “step out of the Mona Lisa line” when talking about studying the Bible?

The Mona Lisa’s story simply tells us what the Mona Lisa means to the people who created it, l mean to the people who created its narrative that causes people to keep on coming every year again and again.

This also sets a base to the bible where considering how movies are being made the Directors invest heavily on at least the very 15 to 30 seconds to give a viewer a deeper understanding of what the movie real is. The same is with the very first five pages of the bible where they do explain the entire bible in a glimpse. Even at the point where you go further, you will keep on coming to the idea of Genesis for a broader interpretation.

The general idea is to try to understand what the author meant rather than bringing in your own perspective. Even the text in the new testament keeps on being cross-referenced to the very first pages of the bible again and again.
