INTRODUCTION TO THE HEBREW BIBLE
MODULE 2: SESSION 11: The Hebrew Bible as a Mosaic
Reading the narrative of hyperlinking of the Hebrew Bible l think the hyperlinking is very necessary for a better understanding. My thinking is for instance, David was not the first King of Israel therefore it required you reading the story of Samuel then how Saul was appointed King and then you come to David. BUT reading the book of Ruth you are being told of the whole genealogy of David right from the book of Genesis, Kings and finally Samuel without even reading further in the book of Samuel. The moment you come to the book of Samuel you begin to learn about how he was anointed, fought by Saul and finally became king. Therefore hyperlinking is of paramount importance.
