• INTRODUCTION TO THE HEBREW BIBLE

MODULE 2: SESSION 12: The Hebrew Bible is Like an Aspen Grove

The Hebrew Bible can be likened to both a quilt and to an aspen grove in such a way that a quilt refers to different patches of clothes passed down to generations and forming one items. These patches represents different times and people but altogether they form a quilt. This is the same with the Hebrew Bible with a collection of the Torah of Moses, the “Nevim” and the “Ketuvim”. The whole of it explains about the Messiah. Further, the Bible is likened to an aspen grove in a sense that all books are interconnected, born out of each other, growing together but also can be explained differently whilst they share the same roots. This is the same with the Hebrew Bible where we find the hyperlinks and interconnectivity along texts. Also we find that each book has its origin and history and can be explained separately while connected to the same source with other scriptures. The old is being used to explain the subsequent etc.
