MODULE 3: SESSION 16: The One Becomes Two

The woman was created not as a lesser helper but as a vital partner in God’s plan of deliverance. Her creation is an intentional act of divine purpose, affirming her dignity and value. She stands alongside the man as an active participant in God’s redemptive work, sharing in the mission of caring for creation and fulfilling God’s intent for humanity.

The imagery of God taking one of the human’s sides underscores her equality and mutual correspondence with the man. She is the essential counterpart, perfectly matching and complementing him. Without her, the fullness of the Genesis 1 ideal cannot be realized, for together they embody the complete image of God and the harmony He intended for human relationships.
