OVERVIEW ON LESSONS 7 TO 9 ( THE DOCTRINE OF SOTERIOLOGY)

So far it has been an interesting journey learning like a new born baby learning how to crawl, walk and run.

The lessons ‘temptation 1 & 2 and Redemption P1’ taught me that sin is man’s greatest problem from birth. We all come into this world with depravity and in need of a Saviour.

God, the Father, in His eternal purpose wanted to redeem man and make him His adopted son.

Satan is the master manipulator and deceiver since time immemorial. When he said to Eve, “..hath God said..”, he was doing what he deos best – to deceive. He did the same with Christ as recorded in Matthew chapter four, when he (satan) tempted Christ that since He is the Son of God then He must turn the stones into bread. Satan knew who Jesus was so he wanted to derail Him from God’s intended purpose for our redemption.

One other thing I have learned is that sin and temptation show our human depravity and reveal God’s suficiency and grace to help us overcome temptation. This teach us to depend on Jesus christ every single day of our lives.

The words such “justified, redemption, righteousness, and justification” are all pointing to the fact that humans are sinners and god is the only remedy for our depravity and sin through the blood of Jesus Christ. Redemption is one of the main words missing in our contemporary music duscipleship. Yes we sing about God and His goodness, but we need to revisit old hyms that focused more on redemption as this takes us deper into the biblical doctrine of enjoying God’s redemptive plan as we see its depth and richness.

I am learning to apreciate redemption more and more as I delve deeper into these lessons to enrich my faith.
