Chapter 12: Chapter Study

In this chapter we learn of Chapter study method, which is a more detailed way to study the Bible than the book survey, chapter study focuses on one chapter at a time to understand it deeply.

There are four steps that comprise chapter study

Step 1: We read the whole chapter and give it a title that reflects its content.

Step 2: We find where the subject changes and mark paragraph divisions. A paragraph is “verses that relate to the same subject.” we mark them by circling the verse numbers.

Step 3: Create A Chapter Study Chart- We Record the book, chapter, title, paragraph verses, paragraph titles, and notes on how parts relate.

Step 4: Create A Chapter Outline – We use the chapter title and paragraph titles as main points, then add subpoints with verse numbers.

The example uses the book ofJude. Chapter Title: is “Warning Against False Teachers”. The outline breaks Jude into 13 parts covering Greeting, Characteristics of False Teachers, Examples like Cain and Balaam, and a 4-point plan to avoid deception.
