      Chapter Four: Faith Toward God

The study of Faith Toward God is very eye opening especially in the clarification that its means directed faith towards God. Defined as the attitude toward God and as the only expected approach for a believer towards God gives one a moment of reflection to avoid being among those who are afraid of God, hating God or rebellious towards God. Further the three types of faith have been described as 1. Saving Faith; 2. Sanctifying Faith and 3. Defensive Faith. It’s also been instructive that for faith to grow one has to engage in hearing the Word of God continually.

The three levels of faith have been defined as a. Faithless b. Little Faith and c. Great Faith.

The importance of works as accompaniments of real faith has also been emphasized; with faith being described as what one believes and works as what one does as a result of the faith they have.

Finally, the example of faith in Abraham our father of faith instructs in the response of faith elaborated as:

      • Hearing the word/Promise

      • Believing the Promise

      • Turning from the hopeless situation

      • Accepting the Promise of God as a fact

      • Our attitude towards God matters. We cannot purpote to love Him yet we are rebellious. i have encountered situations of disobedience that have made me to miss a lot. Our desire should be to direct our faith to God.

        • Are these encounters that can be shared, if so, please do so we can all learn and not ‘miss a lot’.

          • Great job, Pauline! I have always loved the idea that we can only work as much as we have faith. Our faith is the ultimate motivation for our works.
