Knowing the Voice of God

Chapter 2: If Any Man Will Do …….He Shall Know

From this topic one learns the five prerequisites to Knowing the Voice of God. These are summarized below as:

1. The Born Again Experience: This is the first step in starting a relationship with God. One can only know the voice of someone they are familiar with and therefore it is necessary to have an intimate relationship with God to know His Voice.

2. Indwelling of the Holy Spirit: One key ministry of the Holy Spirit is to guide a believer into knowing the will of God. To know the will of God one has to learn to know the Voice of God.

3. Spiritual maturity: A believer is required to grow in the word of God (logos, the written word) to attain a level whereby He’s able to recognize the Voice of God. Growth in the word of God results in awakening of one’s spiritual senses hence one can hear and recognize the Voice of God.

4. Transformation: Spiritual maturity results in transformation when one surrenders fully to God by crucifying the flesh. Surrender comes before knowing God’s will. Flesh has to be crucified as it cant die a natural death.

5. Renewing your mind: This involves getting rid of worldly standards and principles and conforming to the principles revealed in the Word of God. The mind is renewed when you develop the mind of Christ. Renewal of mind is a choice one has to make and it is attained by immersing the mind in the Word of God.
