In this lesson, I learned that the word “Bible” is not mentioned anywhere in the Bible; rather, it is used to refer to the different books of the Bible. I also learned that the 66 books of the Bible were written by 40 writers throughout a period of 1,500 years by the inspiration of God.

Some of the writers wrote exactly what God instructed them to write, some wrote about the things they experienced, while others wrote what God revealed to them concerning the future. However, they were all inspired by the Holy Spirit.

Although all these writers received inspiration from God to write the different books of the Bible, the division into chapters and verses was done by humans to make it easier to locate specific passages.
