Lesson 16: The principle of Confession
There’s no true repentance without confession of sin, this is the only way that you fet into true fellowship with God by being born again. 1 John 1: 9.yes God will always forgive us, when we confess our sins.
The word confess is used 26 times in the bible and ten times in Johns writings – where he talks of salvation, confession of sin, confession of the Lord ship of Jesus Christ.
There are four facts you should know about confession- it acknowledges Gods glory , Romans 14:11, 15:9,Joshua 7:19-26; it agrees with certain facts- Romans 10:9-10, it accepts rather than denies the truth – Mathew 10:32-33, 1 John 2:22-23 and it admits sin and guilt. Psalms 32:5, I John 1:9 .
Confession admits that you are wrong and Gods right and that’s repentance.
Confession has seven characteristics:
– there’s no denial of sin
– it speaks the truth
-it admits that you are wrong and God right.
– it involves humility before God and admission of our unworthiness
– it involves admission of guilt
-it recognises Jesus as the only mediator before God and finally
– it relies upon Gods faithfulness for the forgiveness of sins .

Perfectly articulated!
I’ve seen a good number of people talk down on confession of sin, and it makes me wonder where they get their doctrine from. I think it is a revelation of a deep sense of ignorance in one case, and pride in another.1-
