• The spiritual forces of Evil:Demons

      Chapter 6

The topic discusses about the bad angels also referred to as demons.

Demons are spiritual forces and “fallen “angels, originally created as sinless beings like good angels.

There are two main groups: those active on Earth and those confined in chains. Their leader is Satan, referred to as the “prince of devils” (Matthew 12:24).

Demons are active on Earth but are not omnipresent. They operate under Satan’s control and are associated with the “powers of darkness” (Colossians 1:13).

Their destiny is hell which is described as a place prepared for the devil and his angels (Matthew 25:41).

Their nature is as spirits that can appear visibly, speak, exercise will, demonstrate intelligence and emotions, and possess supernatural strength and eternal presence.

Demons are called “evil spirits” (6 times) and “unclean spirits” (23 times) in the New Testament, as well as “devils” and “devils’ angels”.Satan their head is described as an imitator, not an originator.

Their forces are organized into “principalities” and “powers” (Ephesians 6:11-12, Colossians 1:16).

A “principality” is described as a territory or jurisdiction, with an example given as the “prince of the power of Persia” (Daniel 10).

These forces influence social, political, and cultural systems.

Their work is to bring spiritual wickedness in high places” which were places of worship in the Old Testament.

They appear in groups as it is written Mary Magdalene had 7 types of demons referred to as “legions of demons” before her deliverance, comparing a legion to a Roman army of 6,100 foot soldiers and 726 horsemen.

They have their possession as indicated that a “house divided against himself” cannot stand (Matthew 12:26).

The nature and activities of demons and spirits from a biblical perspective are :

Demons and spirits a have different degrees of wickedness.

They attack a man’s body, soul, and spirit. They are three types of Spirits.

1)Unclean and evil Spirits: Responsible for immoral acts, unclear thoughts, oppression, possession, and depression, affecting the mind and soul.

2)Spirits of Infirmity: Afflict the physical body.

3)Seducing Spirits: Afflict the mind, soul, and will of man, influencing false teachings and doctrines.

      The demons activities are:

They follow Satan’s orders and are organized against God and His people.

They promote deception, lies, rebellion, slander, and idolatry.

They affect the mind, cause emotional problems, and inflict physical ailments.

They attack believers through temptation, deception, confusion, and oppression, leading to bondage and fear.

Great post there! We must conscientiously protect our hearts. When we do, the power of their deception is broken down.
