Lesson 6 : The Abilities that prove that He is God

Isaiah 48:12 says, “Harken unto Me O Jacob and Israel, my called, I am He. I am the first. I also am the last.”So from Isaiah, we perceive that God is the Alpha and the Omega. The One speaking Here is identified as Yahweh, The Lord.

Now proceeding to Revelation:

And when I saw him, I fell at his feet as dead. And he laid his right hand upon me, saying unto me, Fear not; I am the first and the last: I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death. (Revelation 1:17-18)

So Jesus is appearing as the first and the last, He is God

Himself.

The characteristic abilities of God that man cannot display are known as Divine attributes, you know, only God can portray them and these are found in Jesus!

Here are the attributes:

• He is eternal

1) Isaiah 9:6 “ Jesus is being referred to as the Everlasting Father, Meaning that He is the Father of all Ages.

2) 1 John 5:11 Here Jesus is referred to as eternal life

• He is unchangeable

1) Malachi 3:6 In this verse Yahweh is said to be the one who doesn’t change

2) Hebrews 1:8-12; 13:8) Paul then says Jesus is “..the same Yesterday, Today and Forever” Proving that this divine attribute is inherent in His nature.

• He is omnipresent
Matthew 18:20; 28:20;
Jesus said in chapter 18 where two or more are Gathered in my name I am there among them, He is present everywhere! What excited me is that in Jewish Thinking a Synagogue must have at-least ten people.

Ten chapters later, in Chapter 28 , He assures us that he is with us even to the end of the Age!

• He is omniscient
Colossians 2:3 Also tells us that in Him are hid all the treasures of wisdom,
he knows it all!
He was indeed omniscient when he was on earth

• He is omnipotent
Philippians 3:20-21;
Revelation 1:8; 22:12-13)
• He is perfect (Colossians 1:19; 2:9-10)
• He is incomprehensible (Isaiah 9:6; 55:8-9; Matthew 11:27; Romans 11:33 36;
Ephesians
