• GOD'S WILL AND SUFFERING

      Chapter 11

The christian understanding of suffering is that it is an inevitable part of the believer’s life—often described as the “storms of life.It Originates from various sources, including personal sin (illustrated by Jonah), the malice of others, Satanic attacks (as seen with Job), or as a form of divine discipline intended to correct and guide the believer. It is that God orchestrates these hardships to accomplish specific, positive purposes. Rather than being a sign of failure, suffering is a transformative process designed to refine an individual’s character, making them “perfect, stable, and strong.” It serves to shift a believer’s reliance away from material things and towards an eternal dependence on God. It emphasize that suffering deepens one’s knowledge of God’s word and moves a person from merely being “called” to being “chosen.”

It concludes by focusing on the proper response to trials. Using biblical examples like the Parable of the Two Houses and Elijah at the drying brook, believers are encouraged to build a strong foundation of obedience and to trust that uncomfortable circumstances often signal that God is moving them into a new dimension of His plan. It also argues that faith should replace questioning, and that God’s power is made perfect in human weakness and suffering. Were it not for the suffering that Apostle Paul went through he would not have become the greatest apostle in the new testament. It clearly indicates that it’s not sin that makes us suffer but rather the will of God.
