      VERSIONS OF THE BIBLE

      BIBLE TRANSLATION AND PARAPHRASE

Translation and paraphrase are the two main types of versions of the Bible. The difference between the two being that Bible translation aims at converting the original language ( Greek, Hebrew and Aramaic) into another language like English as accurately as possible where word to word translation is done while paraphrasing rewrites scripture in simpler language often by interpreting the meaning of a paragraph or so. In short a Bible paraphrase is when the author takes a translation of the Bible and puts it into his or her own words.
