The Yoseph story is about God transforming betrayal into a vehicle for blessing and rescue. The biblical authors shaped the Yoseph story to enrich the developing portrait of the promised messiah. God’s purpose is to raise an anointed one who would suffer on behalf of many and be exalted so that repentance and forgiveness could be announced to the nations.
