MODULE 1: Session 3 - The ancient shape of scriptures
I have learnt that the ancient Hebrew Bible was grouped into 3 main categories namely; Torah (Law), Nevi’im (Prophets) and Ketuvim (Writings). It’s interesting to see Jesus sums the whole book according to this categorization when He said “written about me in the Law of Moses, the Prophets and the Psalms” – Luke 24:44. Obviously this consistency shows that Jesus was talking about a preexisting composition that was available to Him during His time. This grouping is however different from that in the Christian Old Testament which has 4 main categories – The Pentateuch, The Historical books, The Poetic writings and the The Prophets.

Great post, @danielocran
I love how his singular statement of Jesus sheds light on the unity and authenticity of the scriptures.

Yes, I like this “He said “written about me in the Law of Moses, the Prophets and the Psalms” – Luke 24:44. ” Everything written is about an anointed representative, passing through death, resurrected, and redeemed the mankind. It is all about Jesus.
