Certificate in Bible Theology – Lesson Part One
Upon studying this chapter, I have learned several things. For instance, the word “Bible” is not mentioned in the Bible. It is a name given by men, which means “the books.” The Bible is comprised of 66 books written by 40 men over a period of 1,500 years. It is divided into two major divisions: the Old Testament and the New Testament. A testament is a covenant.
There are many controversial topics touched upon by different writers in the Bible, but the amazing thing is that, despite writing in different times and contexts, these writers do not contradict each other. This proves the fact that the Bible has many writers but one Author, who is our Lord God Almighty.
The Bible covers a wide range of topics, including poetry, law, prophecy, and history, yet it is united in theme. It points people from sin to righteousness. The Bible has diversity, as all aspects of human experience are covered in the Word of God, whether it’s love, geology, art, poetry, war, peace, and many more.
We build doctrine using the Word of God, and we are reproved, corrected, and instructed in righteousness by the Word of God. We are made complete and equipped for every good work through the Word of God. Chirst is revealed in and through the word of God.
