THE HOLY SPIRIT IN COUNSELING

The Holy Spirit plays a vital role in counseling as the ultimate guide, teacher, and empowerer. There is partnership between the counselor and the Holy Spirit, where the Spirit directs the process and empowers lasting change by illuminating truth from Scripture, convicts of sin, enables believers to live out biblical principles, and empowers transformation and growth. The Holy Spirit acts as a counselor, comforter, and advocate, providing support and strength. He reminds believers of the gospel and applies its truths to their lives by helping believers understand and apply God’s Word to their specific situations, providing deeper insight into His will.
