POWER PRINCIPLES
Chapter 5: DELEGATED AUTHORITY.
God is the source of power. He delegated “all power” to His son, Jesus Christ. Jesus then delegated spiritual power to His followers. When Jesus concluded His earthly ministry and returned to heaven, He left His followers with a great responsibility og Go Ye. The responsibility Jesus gave to His followers was to reach the world with the gospel. He also gave them the authority to accomplish the task. The authority was the scriptural power. Jesus had the authority to delegate both power and responsibility to His followers. Satan is not afraid of you- he will not respect you, but he fears your God -given authority. Your authority is based on your relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ. Two words for power are Exousia which is delegated power and authority, and Dunamis which is inherent power. The power Jesus gave His followers carried a specific responsibility – to extend the gospel to the nations of the world. In every age there’s power to work miracles to meet the needs of people. Obey God and leave the results to His hands. You’re not the miracle worker. To meet the challenges of the great responsibility Jesus gave us, we must do it in the authority and power of God.
