INTRODUCTION TO THE HEBREW BIBLE

MODULE 1: THE SHAPE OF THE HEBREW BIBLE

I have had a very wonderful time learning the introduction to the Hebrew bible where the major intention is to understand how the scrolls used in writing of the Hebrew Bible were originally kept, found and organized. Before going into that there are issues that needs to be understood:-

1. Jesus was raised on Hebrew Scriptures as they were vital part of how he talked about himself and gained his self understanding.

2. There has been a lot of challenges in understanding of the Hebrew Bible where most of them are due to cultural differences between readers of the Bible in relation to their culture. Also it seems that the portrait of God in Old Testament is a bit complex etc.

3. There are people who use the Old Testament to question Christianity.

Regardless of the mentioned challenges and critics it is of paramount importance to understand that the Hebrew Bible can be used influence the human perspective in living right and also do by example.
