INTRODUCTION TO THE HEBREW BIBLE
MODULE 1: The Shape of the Hebrew Bible
SESSION 2: How Jesus and Apostles Read their Bibles
The session was quite intriguing as l felt the connection with scriptures and the real purpose of the Hebrew Bible where In the context of Jesus and the apostles, the Hebrew Bible refers to sacred texts about an anointed representative who enters into suffering and death and come out of the other side victoriously and redeem the mankind. This can actually be seen in the Laws of Moses, the Prophets, Psalms etc. So when approaching the Hebrew Bible, it is important to ask yourself few questions including but not limited to Who was this written for? Which timeline is it referring to? What was the location of the author as he was delivering his ideas? How is it connected to the mission of Jesus in saving of the humanity? etc
