• The Foundations of Faith

      Chapter eleven: Perfection

Perfection is defined as spiritual maturity, the standard of which being the very Word of God. The topic starts by highlighting the dangers of having a faulty or incomplete foundation and attempting to build a superstructure of a christian faith and life on it on one hand. On the other hand the danger of laying a solid foundation and failing to build on it by growing up to spiritual maturity also poses a danger for a believer’s life.

There are two level of perfection namely: Initial perfection and Progressive perfection

Finally the nine steps or necessities for perfection process have been enumerated as:

      1. A good foundation

      2. Response to the Word of God

      3. Prayers

      4. Consecration

      5. Gifts of the Holy Spirit

      6. Submission to proven ministries

      7. Suffering

      8. Self Control

      9. Responding to spiritual correction

In conclusion, the lesson emphasizes the necessity for a believer to make every effort to build on the solid foundation moving on to spiritual maturity and to conform into the image of Jesus Christ, our standard of perfection.
