MODULE 1(SESSION 5): Scripture, Communication, Language and Culture

I have learnt something profound that reading the Bible in the context of the Hebrew is like travelling to another country. The original language of the Bible is Hebrew and also accompanied with Aramaic. This tells us that the Bible is an ancient text bringing memories, languages, history and cultural context of the Hebrew. Later on the same was translated to other languages and read by the people who are not exposed to the nature, culture and the diversity of the Hebrew Bible. Therefore, reading it in the context of its origin its like travelling to another country with history, language and culture that is different from your own culture. Even the deeper understanding of it depends on your exposure to these facts.
