ADAM TO NOAH
MODULE 1: SESSION 5: The Cyclical Patter of Genesis 1-11
It is very clear that l have learnt something interesting and l urge with everyone not to rush in quest of obtaining a certificate rather just take time in understanding of the narratives within the subject matter.
Genesis 1-11 introduces important biblical themes through a cycle that repeats twice. Some of these repeated themes includes but not limited to the theme of the dry land, the fruit trees, the rebellious sons who produces people of their own kind after 10 generations, the recreation where waters from above merges with waters underneath; then the breath of God (ruach) that comes in and organize everything. Another feature is the presence of evil/wickedness (ra’) across the generations which also includes emergence of evil people like Lamech and Nimrod who built cities which also perpetrated for evil.
