BIBLICAL MANAGEMENT PRINCIPLES
Chapter 11: FACING FAILURE.
God has perfect plans, but He works with imperfect leaders to accomplish His plans. Because you are imperfect, you must understand the reasons for failure and know what to do when you fail. The basic reasons for failure are failure in relationship, failure by commission and failure by omission. Abraham, Moses, King David, Jonah, Joshua, the prophet Elijah, Peter and the Apostle Paul are great men who at some point in their lives failed as leaders. Samson, Uzziah, Saul, Eli and Judas are leaders whose failure ended in failure and defeat. Repentance made the difference. Saul repented (was sorry), but only for being caught. Saul admitted he had failed, but he blamed his failure on other people. When you fail, there are Biblical guidelines which if you follow them, csn turn failure into success. To correct failure, Jonah took these steps which you need to follow after failure: Revealing, Repenting, Returning and Restoring. After these steps, put your failure behind you and ho on to success. God is not looking at your past failures. He is not looking at you as you are today. He is seeing the man or woman..the leader you can be if you only walk in obedience to Him. You cannot trust in yourself. Your power, authority, your success as a leader is assured only in Christ Jesus.Brain Mbuli-
Thank you for the reflection, Brother David! God is looking at what we will do next. It is always a blessing to live daily by doing the next right thing. Repentance and the hope of restoration are great gifts for us. We fail every day in the smallest and sometimes the biggest ways, but God’s arms remain ever open to receive us back in love.
