HEAVEN AND EARTH
MODULE 5: SESSION 25: Reflections of Heaven Coming to Earth
The cosmic mountain, Eden, the temple, and the tabernacle are signposts that orient readers toward an ultimate reality anchoring the Bible’s story. Each functions as a threshold where heaven meets earth, an architected preview of God’s dwelling with humanity. In the Gospels, Jesus steps into that sequence and claims it, presenting himself as the fulfillment the true temple, the new Eden, the locus where divine presence becomes flesh and walks among us.
Through him, the life of heaven becomes audible and visible, not abstract theory but embodied mercy, wisdom, and power. Heaven remains the source and cause of all life, yet its reality is hidden to untransformed perception. What opens access is renewed imagination hearing, seeing, and desiring as Jesus teaches us, so that faith reframes what seems ordinary as sacramental. As our imaginations are healed, we begin to recognize heaven’s nearness in Christ and participate in its life within the world.
