Chapter 4: Before you begin

This chapter highlights most important factors that makes lasting impacts from studying the word of God.The new birth is so crucial to understanding the word of God as Christ said those who are not of God cannot hear nor understand His words, for they are foolish in carnal mind.

God has provisioned two ways in understanding His word,first He ordained leadership gifts such as teachers to reveal the word of God to us ,and He He provided us with a special teacher who is the Holy Spirit to help reveal the truths of the word of God.

I have learned that milk of the word are the basic thruths of the word of God that are elementary whilst the meat of the word are deeper thruths that are not easily understood, we are taught to desire and be obedient to basic thruths of the word and search for the meat of the word of God to move from milk to meat.

I also learnt some basic in studying the word of God which are setting time to study,selecting right place and starting in the right way by prayer.
