MODULE 6: Engaging with Genesis 2-5 Today

SESSION 30: How Biblical Authors Tell the Truth

The biblical authors thought “imagistically” and used imagery, symbolism, and imagination to talk about the reality of the world. Imagistic narrative is not mythological. There is something that biblical authors believe is real and truthful here, but the way they represent truth is different from how we conceive of historical truth. It is hard for us not to kill the butterfly as we seek to analyze it. This understanding helps us to understand Genesis even better.
