Amen and greetings in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth

I cannot argue nor deny that bible study tools can be very useful when studying the word of God. Its refreshing that this chapter points out how important to study it yourself first, relying solely on the Holy Spirit to teach you the word of God before venturing out and relying on an external source. This stood out for me greatly.

The Principles of Interpretation were amazing to read about and come to know. What stood out for me and has caused a lot of curiosity is the 4th principle – The order of first mention. I have always understood it to refer to order rather than meaning. For example; the God Abraham, Isaac and Jacob or God the Father, Son and Holy Spirit or even in Philippians 4v7 – “will guard the heart and mind”. I will definitely be looking out for more examples that speak to meaning in order to understand it better.
