Good morning our leaders and fellow students. i am a ne student and have started with the foundations course. It is a pleasure to have found this famaly within the Body of Christ.

COURSE: FOUNDATIONS (Soteriology)

LESSON 1: Predestibation Part 1

I thought I understod salvation to its fullest – but after listening to Dr. Hocking walking us through God’s redemptive plan then I realised that there is more to what one grew up believing. It is true that some times we folow opinions and books without a proper biblical base on such opinions. God always knew what He intended to do with humans when he created us and His plan is consistent for all generations and peoples of all nations.

When I discovered the true meaning of predestination as it pertains to salvation through jesus Christ I screamed at the top of my voice and nearly startled my kids.

Whether we are chosen, sanctified, justified or called.. Although that may be what we celebrate as Christians until we understand that our salvation hangs on God’s “foreknowledge”. Romans 8v29, just the first two lines captures for us this awesome gift God gave us. God predestibated us because he foreknew us. As the Greek gives us a clear understanding that ‘predestination’ is “proorizo” – meaning to mark boundaries beforehand. I have learnt that the root word for proorizo gives us the Eglish word “horizon” and this is amazing to know how God’s infinite wisdom is expressed through Pauline epistle (Romans 11v33).

This lesson has impacted my life and faith beyond any human comprehesion and words can’t fully express the emotions i have since I started this journey two days ago.

God’s word, read within its context and by the guidance of the Holy Spirit using human teachers to bring out the beauty and power within it empowers our faith and strengthen our fellowship with one another as saints.

I am looking forward to the next level and am encouraging al students to take this journey not only for certificates but for life empowered journey as we walk according to the calling with which God has for us individually and corporately.
