• Exodus overview

From sessions 4-6, i hve learned how important pharaoh’sdaughter was to Moses.

The first thing i came accross is that compassion can override prejudice. We can see that pharaoh’s daughter eventhough was brought up in a royal house hold of an oppressive regime was moved with empathy when she saw a vulnerable Hebrew child. This teaches that we need to go beyond the societal class and show our kindness to the marginalised.

Secondly i have learned that we must make a costl move in our lives than just a mere passive sympathy. The princess did not just feel bad for the baby but she intervened by taking and adopting the him. This was costly for her because it was defying her father’s decree that the Hebrew boy children were to be thrown into the Nile to perish but she saved his life and adopted him.

When she named the boy Moses, i must say that it was God’s intervention. The name Moses has a meaning of ” to draw out”.This pointed out very clearly the destiny of Moses as the one who was destined to deliver the children of Israel out of Egypt.

      • Amen and greetings

God’s ways and thoughts are indeed higher than our own. Now that I know the meaning of the name Moses, I couldn’t agree more that it was indeed God’s intervention. It makes me wonder, how many times has God intervened in my own life and I wasn’t even aware of it and here I am, alive today, saved by the blood of Jesus Christ of Nazareth. To God be the glory.
