Exodus overview sessions 13-15

I want to say that i have learned alot from the three sessions and especially on the topic liminal space.

I have seen why the children of Israel stayed in the wilderness. This liminal space can be called a place of no where. The children of Israel were neither in Egypt nor the promised land. They were somewhere in between.

I have learned that the wilderness was a place of testing and learning. God wanted the chidren of Israel to reform before entering the promised land. He wanted to form a new nation Israel with reformed people.

God wanted to teach the Israelites to depend on Him for their continued existence rather than depending on their own strength and ability. In the wilderness there was no security and no food. This meant thst the Israelites were to fully depend on God for their existence. God wanted the Israel to trust Him and his word. He wanted to test them and see where their hearts were. During the temptation of Jesus he said that it is written that man shall not live by bread alone but by the word of the Lord. In the wilderness god provided manner to the Israelites. They were fully to trust him and His word.

This was to prepare them to enter the promised land with full submission and trust on God and His word.
